The 18 Winners of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève

A recap of last night’s GPHG’s awards.

As expected, it was an evening of excitement, style and incredible watchmaking at the current year’s version of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG). Showing simply the best extravagance watches . Occurring in the Swiss city of Geneva – arguably the world’s capital of extravagance watchmaking – the top of the food chain of the business were close by to see which watch manufacturers would bring home the distinctions, and all the more significantly, the bragging rights. An audience of more than 1,500 individuals were present at the service and many more tuned in to the live broadcast.

The top prize of the night, “Aiguille d’Or” Grand Prix, was granted to Greubel Forsey for the Tourbillon 24 Secondes Vision, and a unique jury prize was given to Micke Pintus, Yannick Pintus and Jean-Luc Perrin, the three Vacheron Constantin watchmakers that developed the most complicated watch on the planet, the Reference 57260.

Comprised of 26 definitive watch specialists and gatherers, the GPHG jury settled on 17 of the 18 honors , while a unique “Public” prize was decided on by the overall population by means of the Internet and exceptional exhibitions. The victor of that “Public” prize was Antoine Preziuso for the Tourbillon of Tourbillons, which had just gotten the “Development Watch” grant prior that evening.

Originally established in 2001, the current year’s GPGH denoted the fifteenth version of the honors, and it is considered the main distinctions in the watch industry.
